SMPTE Learn Mode

SMPTE Learn Mode is used to synchronize a Cue List with a source of SMPTE Time Code. Marquee can support two external SMPTE sources with the optional interface, the Media Player's SMPTE time and four internal SMPTE clocks set by macros.

Note:

You will need to change the Cue List's properties to accept SMPTE Time Code.

  1. Build a series of cues that will need to be synchronized with SMPTE Time Code. When the cue list is selected, its specific SMPTE source's current SMPTE time is displayed in the SMPTE Status Bubble:

  1. Activate the Tool, SMPTE Learn (see the Tools topic for more information on how to use the [TOOLS] button). The Tools LED will flash and the Tool bubble will turn red:

  1. Start the SMPTE source.

  2. Press [GO] to execute the cue at the desired time. This will automatically record the SMPTE time with each Cue:

  1. Turn off the Learn Tool by pressing the [TOOLS] button.

  2. Run the SMPTE Time from the beginning and each Cue will execute at the recorded SMPTE time.

  3. If slight adjustments are necessary, move the Blue Box to the appropriate cell and press [EDIT].

Note:

Hint:

When entering SMPTE times manually, enter times in the HH:MM:SS format. Use two dots (i.e., “ .. ”) to make the colon. This format extends from days (DD) to fractions of a second or frames (FF) in SMPTE time (i.e., DD:HH:MM:SS.FF). Note that frames or fractions of a second appear after a single decimal point. See SMPTE Time Code on Cue Lists to see how to manually edit your MP3 files to utilize the hour field for different songs.
