Group selection is used to Select 'like' fixtures. It is a handy method of organizing your rig such that you can address large section of it quickly. Marquee is unique in that it does not have a separate 'container' or 'place' to record groups; it just uses the Record Look function. This is done because sometimes when you use groups, you want to just Select the fixtures and at other times you want to select them and put them in a certain state (or at certain levels). This is achieved in Marquee by first Recording a Look, then either using the [GROUP] button ([G] is the QWERTY equivalent) to just Select the fixtures. Using the [LOOK] button or [L] key Selects them and sets their Levels.
So to summarize:
Groups are recorded as Looks
The [GROUP] Button can be mapped to a specific Look Page in Show Options
To use a Group, use the [GROUP] or [G] button, then enter the Look number - only the fixtures will be selected.
To set a Group to a specific level, press [GROUP] [#] [@] [%] [ENTER].
To use the traditional Group At Level syntax, press [LOOK] [#] [ENTER] or [LOOK] [#] [@] [%] [ENTER] to scale the recorded intensities.
Fixture order selection is preserved when recording Looks and is restored when calling them back. This is useful for Fanning, Effects, Independent Timing or staggered command line syntax.
