I love having my own controller on my laptop. The ability to program where I want and then plug it into the dimmer pack is dreamy. The Horizon Interface is small enough to carry in my purse! The cue stacking is essential for my more esoteric projects and I love the timeclock feature. And talk about easy to use!!!

As a freelance Lighting Designer, I have my own Horizon Gold system which I’ve used all over, especially in site-specific venues ... The “Fenestrations” piece in Grand Central Terminal ... The gala opening of the New York Puublic Library of the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center ... the Brooklyn Piers ... the Old American Can Factory in Brooklyn ...

Our client had eleven dedicated controllers running a Christmas light show. It was a nightmare to keep it running. We replaced all that with one highly integrated Horizon system that is very easy for the staff to troubleshoot using a series of Magic Sheets. We wrote 74 cue sheets to control nearly a quarter-megawatt of Christmas lights in 346 circuits. Last season it automatically ran all 324 performances without any operator intervention or glitches. I can’t think of another show control product on the market that could have done the job this well for our client.

The Broward Stage Door Theatre Co. is proud to be using Horizon on all three of our stages. I could not ask for better support for advanced issues, nor could I get a better program for running and programming my shows. I also do a lot of industrials, and find Horizon to be my board of choice. Anyone looking for a demo or a reference in the south Florida area should feel free to contact me.

As a user of Horizon since its earliest days, I have always been pleased with its capabilities (not to mention portability) over other types of moving light control systems. Couple a top notch product with capable and willing support staff and you have a real winner! Now as soon as it can read my mind, we'll have it all.

The fact that the system is Windows based and the interface is very affordable for a small theatre program has allowed me to provide my students with a lighting system and lighting concepts that would never have been possible before. ... When I was offered a brand new ETC console as part of the Alumni Theatre’s renovation this summer I said, “No thank you, I’m very happy with my Horizon system.”

I have only two words fit to describe Horizon 98: HOLY S**T!!!!
I am amazed... you guys read my mind concerning what should be added and or changed. Wow! I'm gonna rant about this for a couple of days. The HTML layout is an awesome idea. Also, I love the channel titling capabilities. A tip o' the hat to all the programmers that made this happen.

After reading my last posting, I don't feel I expressed how powerful and simplistic the Horizon system. There is always another way to control lights, but Horizon is unique in the manner is allows virtually anyone to achieve truly awesome, complex, and precise lighting effects.

I really do like this "Board". The best thing is that it's volunteer proof. This place operates just like a stateside community theater, so I have volunteers running the board... It has also been a boon to volunteer involvement in that every German kid loves computers and loves even more making computers actually do something creative. I've had no lack of folks wanting to design lighting for me now that it's digitized.

I ordered an Expression 2x a couple of years ago, It cost around 10k, as I recall. But now that I've seen specs for the Horizon setup, I'm wishing I could do it over again...
