Horizon Control Inc. Announces Release of Horizon™ Universal Key

The Most Powerful Lighting Console That Fits In Your Pocket™

LDI 2002, Las Vegas — October 18, 2002 — Horizon Control is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the Horizon Universal Key. This USB device enables your Windows XP computer running the Horizon Software to communicate with lighting devices and digital I/O directly over Ethernet using protocols from multiple vendors. The Horizon Universal Key currently supports the Horizon Ethernet Protocol and the Pathport Protocol from Pathway Connectivity. Support for the Artistic Licence Art-Net Protocol and Opto-22 Snap Ethernet Digital I/O will be available by the end of the fourth quarter.

Horizon is known throughout the entertainment lighting industry for its powerful macro programming language, sophisticated event trigger system and flexible time-of-day/astronomical scheduling abilities. Combining these features with off-the-shelf hardware available from multiple vendors permits the integration of a powerful lighting control system at a fraction of the price of a fully custom solution.

The Horizon Universal Key can grow as your needs change with the ability to be easily upgraded on-line 24/7 to support additional channels or I/O points. Whether your system is a stage with 512 channels or a huge installation combining thousands of fixtures with hundreds of digital I/O points all running over Ethernet, the Horizon Universal Key attached to your Windows XP computer can be the center of your control solution.
